The Runaway Soldier Ch.12

I wonder if she goes to my school...I really hope so.



*Lia's POV*
We watched her run away. I looked up at Andy. He was still watching her to make sure she left with her mom safely. His blue eyes were very concentrated, and his lips were pursed slightly.

He is so damn beautiful. It's not fair.

It was complicated. I admired Andy. He was my role model, the man I looked up to...but at the same time I was jealous of him. He was so perfect. Almost too perfect.

He looked down at me suddenly. I looked away quickly. I really hope he hadn't noticed me staring at him.

"You ready to go eat?"

I looked back up at him, "Can we just get some burgers and go down to the stadium?"

He looked surprised. "This place has a stadium?"

I nodded. "It's brand new, they just built it this year. It's also right next to the water, so it's really pretty."

He smiled. "Let's go then."

We loaded up into the car and drove to find the nearest Burger King.

We pulled up in the drive-through.

"Andy, you should scream your order."

He looked at me and smirked as he rolled down his window.

"How else do you think we have fun with simple things?"

I giggled a little as my face heat up. That smile was just so......I can't even explain it.

Some static, and then a female voice.

"Welcome to Burger King, may I take your order?"

I could see Andy's body building up a scream.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounded like the scream at the beginning of Perfect Weapon.

We heard the lady freaking out on the other side of the box.

"HOLY SHIT! JESUS CHRIST! DEAR LORD WHAT WAS THAT?! OH GOD! HELP ME?! JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!"

Me and Andy laughed for about 5 minutes. Even though I was still in a fit of giggles, Andy could calmly lean out of the window.

"Four bacon burgers and a large coke."

We heard the lady's shaky okay and the price. We pulled up to the window. She looked at him like he was the devil himself.
I wonder if the devil would order four bacon burgers and a large coke.
Her hand was shaking as she handed Andy the bag of food. He gave her a $20 and as she gave back the change I noticed she was trying her hardest not to touch Andy.

He glanced back and saw that no one else was in the line. So instead he crossed his arms and started talking to the lady.

"So...you come here often?"

I started giggling, trying to hold them back. It was so hard though.

"u-uhm...y-yes...I work here..."

"Oh really? I couldn't have guessed."

She looked very confused.

Andy took the opportunity to leave.

I continued to giggle as we drove away. He was laughing a bit too. Something about his smile was very childish.

I pointed out all the directions as we talked about his recent album, Set the World on Fire.

"My favorites off of it are Saviour, Ritual, and Fallen Angels...but it's really hard to pick a favorite because I always seem to change it."

He chuckled a bit. "My favorite is all of them."

I smiled, "That works too."

We finally made it to the stadium. The sun was just about to set over the water. We parked and sat in the grass. It was bright green and the water was a blue-grey, the sun was turning from yellow to an orange. It was so beautiful. Almost no people were around either.

We sat down and started eating our burgers. Just in quiet silence, watching the seagulls and the ocean.

As he watched the miniature waves of the small ocean I looked at him. His long hair, his blue eyes, his lips, his nose, his face. Andy.
He was beautiful. Everything about him. I just wanted to hug him. I just wanted to talk to him. I just wanted him. I've never had a boyfriend, a first kiss, or anyone I really really liked.

In the dimming light of the sun, with the sound of seagulls and gently crashing waves, I realized something.


I was only 13, but I was in love.
